Momoko Arai

桐朋女子高等学校音楽科、桐朋学園大学音楽部、同大学研究科卒業。在学中よりソリストとしての活動を開始。ソロアルバムとして2013年5月に1stアルバム『voice of me』、2016年9月に2ndアルバム『Preface』をリリース、2022年12月に6年ぶりの配信シングル「Snow Tears」をリリースしたことをキッカケに、2023年12月配信シングル「LINO」、2024年1月「空山望」、2月「雪解けの朝」と配信先行シングルを連続リリース。3月13日には3rdアルバム『LINO』をリリースした。ソロ活動以外にも、2016年よりビートルズの楽曲を弦楽四重奏で奏でる「B.S.Q.〜Beatles Strings Quartet〜」のメンバーとしても活動を開始。映画監督岩井俊二氏作品映画「リップヴァンウィンクルの花嫁」、中国映画「你好, 之華（チィファの手紙）」、コロナ禍の中生まれたリモート映画「8日で死んだ怪獣の12日の物語」など劇中音楽でもヴァイオリニストとして参加し、岩井俊二の音楽プロジェクトメンバーとして2016年、2018年に行われた中国本土のコンサートにもツアーメンバーとして参加。昨今ではソロ活動と並行して、SUPER EIGHT、KinKi Kids、B’z、河村隆一、INORAN、福井晶一、山崎育三郎、ONEW、Mrs.GREEN APLLE、あいみょんなど数多くのステージサポート、レコーディングなど幅広い活動を行っている。

Graduated from the Music Department of Toho Girls’ High School, Toho Gakuen School of Music, and its graduate program.
She began performing as a soloist while still in school.Her first solo album, voice of me, was released in May 2013, followed by her second album, Preface, in September 2016. In December 2022, she released her first digital single in six years, Snow Tears, which marked the beginning of a series of digital releases: LINO in December 2023, Sora Yamanozomi in January 2024, and Yukidoke no Asa in February 2024.On March 13, she released her third album, LINO.
In addition to her solo work, she has been a member of “B.S.Q. ~ Beatles Strings Quartet ~” since 2016, performing Beatles songs arranged for string quartet. As a violinist, she has contributed to the soundtracks of films by director Shunji Iwai, including A Bride for Rip Van Winkle, the Chinese film Last Letter (你好，之華), and the remote film The 12 Day Tale of the Monster that Died in 8 Days, created during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She also participated as a touring member in Iwai’s music project concerts held in mainland China in 2016 and 2018.
Recently, alongside her solo career, she has been actively supporting a wide range of artists on stage and in recordings, including SUPER EIGHT, KinKi Kids, B’z, Ryuichi Kawamura, INORAN, Shoichi Fukui, Ikusaburo Yamazaki, ONEW, Mrs. GREEN APPLE, and Aimyon.
